Thanks for sharing Yannick. As always very clearly written. Unfortunately all this is true...take my home country Belgium, in a Belgian startup it's financially more wise for the early/junior employee to ask for a financial bonus/higher rise then to accept some options...as they have to pay the taxes, cash, upfront...compare that with say the UK... Difference can not be more striking. I think, at least in Belgium, therefore most SOP's are not higher then 10%. I also believe, therefore/partly, a capital raise is higher/needs more 'cash' money then it should be...compared to a favourable friendly legislation option country. Fortunately some (Belgian) C-level executives DO want some options and therefore interests are aligned with VC's/angel investors... But some countries/eco-systems have an unfair advantage in my opinion...

"I have discovered a distribution advantage, which product can i deliver with it?" that's THE sentence that I liked in your-as-always-great-written-blog Yannick Oswald! I really liked this blog and thinking about this distribution advantage first before product... is something to re-think /over think about🤦 👌🕵️

Andris Berzins yes, their personal story. Difficult to do well when in front of a small group of relatively senior people. So I ask them to be prepared. It is nice to kick off with a good first impression
