I think both keyboard and voice are generally slow communication channels between human being and a device. Voice is even slower, however can be used over a distance.
What do you think of Brain Link, which would literally connect human brain with a device, removing for a need of a communication interface at all. That would be a real revolution.
IMHO while voice has a way higher bandwidth then keyboard, it sacrifices privacy aspect especially in public places. You probably don’t want to be shouting your dinner request for your loved one or your medical condition, or how much money you want to send someone, while being on train and have fellow passengers hear everything.
as I understand - both keyboard and voice actually are brain links. They link your brain via muscles in your vocal tract or fingers to the device you want the information in.
As for the prediction
Honestly, after reading this insight and your article on the topic, I started using voice assistant Bixby for the first time, which came with my phone.
I can't stress enough how tired I am from using the screen and typing for hours all day long, however, voice features are still far from perfection. Nonetheless, it is so exciting to hear we are moving steadily towards that direction!
