Series I would like to recommend - "Love, Death and Robots". Unusual format and content, made up of independent unrelated parts, 2 seasons. Very good for when you need to be swept off your feet and feel stuck. It also reviews from unusual angles important questions of life, meaning, happiness and common life with robots. Podcast I would like to recommend - "Infinite Monkey Cage". While it covers a very wide range of topics, today I enjoyed "Science of Dreaming", and there is more on human mind and psychology related subjects. It is difficult to discuss such a subjective field with so much reliance on memory and personal interpretation, but these guys do it brilliantly. Podcast hosts - Brian Cox and Robin Ince with a panel of cool guests for each episode. Episode on dreaming: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0008wtj My name is Monika, I am psychologist. More/again about the robots and psychology. As we know, robots need to be made to have some human like features to make their job easier. It actually is a real problem - if humans are awkward about the robots, then robots cannot help people as well as they could, or people do not trust robots with the tasks at all. So, this is an area of research now. If robot is assessed to be high on agreeableness, emotional stability and conscientiousness (!), then people are more likely to have a positive outlook towards it. The longer people interact with the robot, the more they are likely to like it - even if they were regarded as weird looking in the beginning. My name is Monika, I am psychologist. I decided to write a bit more about the personality traits - I keep writing about the NEO PI-R inventory and the research using it. So my plan is to write about all thirty facets and five big traits that this inventory reports. Second trait - Openness. This is a trait composed of six facets: fantasy (active imagination), aesthetics (sensitivity to art forms), feelings (attentiveness to inner feelings), actions (adventurousness, preference for variety), ideas (intellectual curiosity) and values (psychological liberalism). Most people fall in the middle between high and low scores. Low score predicts a person who is more traditional in thinking, behavior and appearance. People who score high tend to be more involved in creativity and learning, they will always prefer a new taste and untried road. Society as usual requires balance - accumulated knowledge and experience from traditionalists and continuous learning and inventions from the radical liberals. And most of the others who usually adapt their behaviors to the situation and may use both sides of the continuum. My name is Monika, I am psychologist.
