Gangster move by TikTok 💪
Just before Big Four(Apple, Amazon, Google, FB) antitrust hearing TikTok challenged competition to reveal more about it’s algorithms and moderation policies. Before that they posted article how TikTok’s personal feed is working.
“Even more, we believe our entire industry should be held to an exceptionally high standard. That's why we believe all companies should disclose their algorithms, moderation policies, and data flows to regulators. We will not wait for regulation to come, but instead TikTok has taken the first step by launching a Transparency and Accountability Center for moderation and data practices. Experts can observe our moderation policies in real-time, as well as examine the actual code that drives our algorithms. This puts us a step ahead of the industry, and we encourage others to follow suit.”

This is one of the best examples of dematerialization and how capitalism and technological progress is allowing humanity to do More from Less. If you want to know more about the topic I highly encourage you to read a book More from Less: The Surprising Story of How We Learned to Prosper Using Fewer Resources by Andrew McAfee. It’s a book full of optimism telling how as we get richer, we are using resources more efficiently, using less energy, causing less pollution and cleaning up the pollution of the past.
