Most of the time, the story our brains generate matches the real, physical world — but not always. Our brains also unconsciously bend our perception of reality to meet our desires or expectations. And they fill in gaps using our past experiences. Reality is constructed by your brain: https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/20978285/optical-illusion-science-humility-reality-polarization
"Reality" is constructed by your brain. Here’s what that means, and why it matters.

Very interesting topic :) Going deeper there are scientists who claim that our brains not only tell us the "story" about reality, but we only exist in that story. We don't exist in a physical world. An interesting view: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyrPMVMb-Uw&t=9s

- Brilliant! I read a much smaller extract of this story in the British media a few months ago. The mathematics are so minute that it almost defies belief. I would address with the question; if we are in a ‘story’ who’s the writer of the main narrative and how the Hell does the story of even two single people matchup??? If I am the main story teller then would that not mean that everyone else is a P-Zombie without subjective experience???

I really don't know the answer 🙂 First, we should know and agree on what consciousness is. If you're only your memories, then you can be the same P-Zombie like the rest. In spiritual world it is claimed that the writer of this story is beyond your memories, genes, etc. Beyond who you think you are. So when you find out who you really are then you should know what reality is (wake up). I personally think that we're limited to understand, maybe through practice like meditation or yoga you can unwire your brains and see new patterns, but you just escape from one cave to a bigger one.

- This is the great thing about consciousness as a topic of conversation, it humbles even the most erudite/intelligent minds! 😁 For me, the assertion that we are only our memories is problematic because they carry attached emotions. On the basis of my human experience I would argue against the existence of P-Zombies because I simply see far too much emotion in myself and those around me. You could maybe argue that sociopathic/psychopathic people, take for instance remorseless cold-blooded killers, are close to a P-Zombie but I would counter that with the suspicion that the vast majority of them are motivated by negative emotions like rage, anger, resentment, and jealousy?! 🤷🏻‍♂️

What is reality? In my humble point of view just an itty bitty accident. Whatever the universe may be we are just it expiriencing itself. The brain just processes our surroundings and that we call life. There are physical laws that have to be followed so if you`d simulate the big bang a million times the outcome would be always the same. Everything that is going to happen already happened. Time is just an illusion and a way for our brains to process everything. I am scared and sad, yet i don`t know why. I hope you guys are doing well.

The probability of the universe being a simulation? Nope. It’s a I’ll-formed theory. Kind of like how 5G has caused COV-SARS-2. The universe was formed on a serious of chemical reactions and physics to create the Big Bang, information were all taught in school and is readily available on accredited sources online.
