This is a book written more than thousand years ago by a young woman in Kyoto ❤️
"Pillow Book" by Sei Shonagon reaches us from the depth of long forgotten era, but it's not a grand epic story, but rather funny notes and anecdotes a witty charming lady wrote for her own amusesment.
But it's also a very humbling to realise how universal human experience is. In imperial Court of Kyoto same as contemporary New York, Kuala Lumpur or Vilnius people laugh, tease each other, hide lovers and watch the beauty of nature to unfold.
Highly recommend reading it while watching the spring blossom and slowly mature into summer 🌸🌸🌸

MORE INSIGHTS YOU MIGHT LIKELearn more by discovering other insights
Wild times call for wild books. Since Mr. President has a certain obsession with post office, I thought, it might be a good time to read “Post office” by Bukowski.
If the rent is due and you have no idea what to do, this is The Book 📖
It explores the depth of desperation and provides a glimpse of hope that people are able to withstand just about anything. Even a dull and mind-numbing shifts in post office. And still manage to become the world famous writer.
Hate your job? 🙄 Bukowski did hate his for sure! But in the end, it was worth it as he succeeded in writing an awesome ode to all the most horrible jobs in the planet.
Enjoy with nice stiff drink and let me know what you think 🍺🍷

What is our motivation to read?
Expectations are to expand our minds, to get insights into life and perform better on daily basis.
Intuitively many people tend to favour non-fiction, because it talks about 'real' world rather than fantasy, but, to be honest, it is not true.
Non-fiction gives you somebody's opinion on a certain question, while a right choice of a novel might open up your internal wisdom, help you process important questions of life and death, loss and opportunity.
Reading is way more than a way to acquire information, it is a meditate inward process.
But... It is very hard to make a decision on what to read and why. Many lists tell you a bit about the book but not "the value proposition" on what you could discover by reading it. That's my goal 💅
Fungi is the original network of planet earth way more complex than what humans ever created. It transmits food both and information between different species of plant/fungi/animal kingdom.
Main question should be: why are we not connected to this network?
"Animals tend to find food in the world and put it in their bodies; fungi put their bodies in the food. To do so, they must ceaselessly remodel themselves, weaving their bodies into relation with their surroundings. This entanglement—with themselves, with their physical surroundings, and with other organisms—is their staple mode of existence. "
