Do you know why our bodies create cholesterol, what functions does it have?
Can your doctor explain this to you? Maybe they did?
Most of us only know/heard that LDL is bad, even blood tests has it normal starting from zero (which is crazy).
Please share your perceptions and experiences and I'll be sure to share some scientific facts in presentable fashion later on :)
Plant protection in indoor farming - most of the time YOU are the problem
I visited some Agritech companies, and every time I was surprised, that none of the employees have degrees or relevant experience in agriculture or even natural sciences, and they only use commercial products, made for home use, which are way more expensive.
The next thing comes as a surprise, that they wanted to show me the actual farm, but they didn't provide me with protective clothes, they say they did not use chemicals, so no protectives needed. Pardon? So you think I want to protect myself from your lettuce? You let everyone in your lab wearing their casual clothes? Congrats, now your precious farm can have a ton of diseases, which they happily "diagnose" as nutrition deficiency, but there is nothing to do now, because in indoor farms it is almost impossible to cure these diseases, additional nutrition is more likely a waste of time and money.
This is nasty! In serious cases the plumbing has moths or mold, which is not just disgusting but also a health concern for customers!
Agritech is NOT a hobby, use it with responsibility, consult with a professional! But common sense is a good start! HACCP is also helpful
Are you already dreaming of fresh radish? Or strawberries with milk? Do you start imagining pumpkin soup and crunchy skin of the chicken once autumn comes? In other words, is your kitchen seasonal? Research says that most people change their diets with change of seasons - regardless of the fact that we can buy almost anything almost any time. Research says these factors might be at play:
- environment (changes in the temperature and humidity)
- psychological (changes in the perception level)
- physiological (wish to start New Year afresh)
Researchers also say that cultural factors and increasingly data driven marketing may be shaping our choices even more than physiological or nutritional factors.
So the longing for the radishes may be just as well a well designed campaign. Unless you grow your own radishes, of course :)
