Having acquired a Master's degree in History and a PhD in Humanities, I've built my further career around the world of academia. This had led to 12 purposeful years of lecturing and nurturing young bright minds. However, I've always believed that Lithuania is built on deeds, not words. That is exactly why I decided to switch my Historian's title into one of a Politician. It has been over a decade now since I've became a Member of Parliament (my third cadence), and I'm happy to be contributing to a present of Lithuania, based on the principles of transparency and openness.
THE PROCESS OF STATE-BUILDING
I believe that a strong state must be based not only on its military capabilities, but also on politically active, confident and respected citizens. I believe that together we can make our country stronger – without lies and fears of the future. If you want to discuss my (and your!) idea of a prosperous state - let's chat.
The exciting thing about history is that it always evolves. New perspectives, findings and realizations are always discovered, thus the dots connect and re-connect perpetually. If you're a history aficionado like me, or are simply looking to know more about a certain historical period or event - I'd gladly discuss it with you.
