I was born and raised in a small but ambitious and fast growing country Lithuania. However, due to my eagerness to explore, challenge myself and learn new things, I always felt that the place was too small for me.
So after my international studying experience in South Korea and The Netherlands, I started to work at Philips in Amsterdam. I worked for a global transformation programme where I got my strong passion for process excellence.
Later I moved to shipping giant Maersk, where I was quickly promoted to form a new transformation department and take on a leadership role. This whole transition to a new industry and early leadership experience was tremendous for my personal development. But in the midst of my promising career, I decided to do something crazy! I quit my job to pursue volunteering with women in rural Uganda.
My career break year allowed me to take a step back and think about my purpose. This is when I decided to come back to the business world which was always so exciting for me, especially as I grew up with entrepreneurial parents. Currently I am working at Schuberg Philis, which is a Dutch technology company known for its self-steering customer teams and continuous highest customer satisfaction ranking (Giarte).
On top of my daily work I am still engaged with Integrated Villages NGO in Uganda and write my personal blog on issues which are typically faced by young professionals.
Other people often describe me as someone who is not afraid to get her “hands dirty” and deliver results.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to save the world, i.e. to make a difference. Hi, I’m Nerija, and I am passionate about all things digital! So passionate in fact, that I have been working with digital products for more than 10 years. As an individual who prefers great working structure, I am extremely keen to find a solution for everything that comes my way.
More being, less doing. It’s not only the phrase I tend to apply both in my professional as well as personal life, but also words that best describe my philosophy of Slow Living that combines my daily routine, my family, my job, my activities and my hobbies. More than that, it represents the lifestyle I’ve been seeking for years. Today I can proudly state that it has become a reality and will glad to share how to improve work-life balance in your life.
After more than 20 years in leading business positions (10+ of which were in CEO and Chairwoman of the Board roles), I am sure I have the capacity to share my extensive experience with the world by consulting businesses on strategic and various management-related questions and helping others grow. With my former experience as a team and company leader, I also can help entrepreneurs and founders in setting goals and achieving organizational leadership in the unpredictable environment we face today. Business consulting has been part of my professional life for 14 years.
My other passion includes empowering female entrepreneurs to take on business challenges and empowering them in their entrepreneurial journeys that are challenging but full of adventures.
I believe that great results in business can only be achieved with honesty and openness and these are the qualities I value in people the most.

I am passionate about startups. I have founded my own, privately invested in 15, and is now managing 70Ventures with the goal to make additional 70 investments.
When I need to get out of town, I visit my farm outside Vilnius. I am experimenting with niche products including birch sap and bison.
After spending two years at Stanford Business School during the run-up to the dot-com bubble, my appetite was whetted in the intersection of technology and business. Aside from two years at a strategy consulting firm Bain & Company, I have spent the past 18 years at technology startups in the US and Europe. Highlights include two executive roles, including 2 startups, that each exited for over $100M. Today I am Managing Partner of Change Ventures, the first and largest pan-Baltic seed fund, backing ambitious Baltic founders building global success stories.
Outside work, I am a father of four kids, husband to a wonderfully smart and capable lawyer. I co-founded and am on the boards of the TechHub Riga and TechChill foundations and work to support the startup community in Latvia and the other Baltic States. Last but not least - I’m a part time (aka weekend) warrior in the National Guard of Latvia, serving as an infantryman in the 1st Riga Brigade.
